Why Breathe Exists: Our Story + Mission

Why Breathe Exists: Our Story + Mission

At Breathe, our intention is simple: You leave feeling better than when you arrived.

That’s it. That’s the heartbeat of everything we do.

In a world that moves fast and demands so much from us, it’s easy to forget how powerful it is to pause, to move, to breathe. That’s where we come in. From the moment you walk through our doors, we want you to feel held, seen, and supported—whether you’re here to sweat, stretch, lift, or simply find a moment of peace.

Breathe was born out of a personal need—mine.

I’ve lived with asthma my entire life, and I know what it feels like to be disconnected from your own breath. But every time I stepped into an infrared-heated yoga class, something shifted. The warmth opened my lungs, relaxed my body, and left me feeling more alive—more me. The effects were undeniable. I felt better after every class. That’s why we named this space Breathe. Because for me, breath is freedom.

After years of working in a fast-paced, high-performing marketing and communications role at Accenture, I felt the call to slow down, plant roots, and create something meaningful right here in Squamish—a town that has given me so much. I left behind the corporate world not because it wasn’t working, but because I knew I had something even more aligned to offer: a space that gives people what I had found through movement, community, and heat.

Breathe is more than a studio—it’s a living, breathing community. A place where you can show up exactly as you are and be met with support, encouragement, and inspiration. Whether you’re joining us for hot yoga, strength training, barre, breathwork, or stillness, our goal is always the same: to help you leave feeling lighter, stronger, and more grounded than when you walked in.

Because when you feel better, you move through the world differently.
And when we all feel better, we make our community better.

That’s the why behind Breathe.
